wiggolly dantas surfing pipeline

As another day comes to an end I find myself on a beach on the North shore of Oahu. As the contest buoys get pulled in the light changes, offering plenty of back lit barrels. For the week I was out on the Island there was no shortage of solid surf. I originally thought this was Uluboi but he let me know that was actually his good friend Wiggolly Dantas. Wiggolly is one of the radess seemingly “perma stoked” surfers out there.
All about the barrel
As far as scoring in a contest is concerned, yes, The Pipeline is all about the barrel. But Wiggoly isn’t wearing a jersey so this scored high in my mind. (I have a picture of Billy Kemper throwing it beyond vertical on a critical pipe section I’ll post in another blog). There is nothing better (in my mind) than: scoring some solid surf for myself, watching some of the worlds greatest surfers performing on one of the worlds greatest waves and then Foodland poke and bintangs..
