New Ford Motor Company Bronco
I have personally heard that Ford would be offering the Bronco again for years. Since the creation of the Ford Raptor I’ve heard “Raptor Bronco” as well as speculations of what power plant they will offer. In addition to the years of “hear say” there has been the release of renderings over the years. Some good.. and.. some not so much. From what I can tell the new 2021 Ford Motor Company Bronco will uphold “looking good since ’66”.
Ford Bronco Racing
The Bronco holds a unique piece of off road racing history. Being the only 4 wheel drive vehicle to win the SCORE international BAJA 1000. Rod Hall won the famous race in 1969 behind the wheel of a Bill Stroppe bilt Bronco. With the evolution of the modern Trophy Truck there will probably be a Baja 1000 overall win by a 4 wheel drive vehicle again. But as of now that belongs to the Bronco.
New Bronco at the 2019 Baja 1000
Flash forward to 2019 and Ford debut a new version of the 1969 overall race winning vehicle. Unfortunately for Ford and the new Bronco no overall victory this year. There are a few things that prevented the repeat. One being the Class that they now race the Bronco in. Class 2 will never be able to compete with a class one or trophy truck. Coupled with several setbacks and mechanicals issues, the new Bronco with experienced racers Cameron Steele and Johnny Campbell were unable to finish the race. Which meant a DNF (did not finish) for the new Ford Motor Company Bronco.
2021 Ford Bronco
Regardless of the lack of success at the 2019 Baja 1000 in debuting the 2020 Bronco. With presale orders being placed for the 2021 Bronco I hope it lives up to expectations. As well as lives up to the heritage of the Bronco and its off road capabilities.
