Meaning of “ZUMBAR”

Zumbar is a Spanish Verb that means to:

Buzz like a bee.

Hum like a motor.

Purr like a Cat

Zumbar Coffee Roasting

Zumbar was founded in 2003 and started roasting coffee from their Sorrento Valley Location. In 2013 opening a second location in Cardiff by The Sea they have been able to share some more love for coffee to residents of the quaint beach town.

Zumbar Coffee Encinitas

Location, location, location.. What a great location for a coffee shop. Right across the street from Patagonia Cardiff. Just a short walk from Cardiff reef or any of the surf breaks on the San Elijo State Beach. As well as very close to VG’s Doughnuts. While Zumbar does have some amazing pasties on offer sometimes you just need a doughnut! At Zumbar Coffee shop in Encinitas the coffee and the environment never dissapoint.

My Take on Zumbar

Personally, I really enjoy the interior of Zumbar. All the white tile is clean and simple with a very “chill” vibe. As for the coffee, I can only attest to the pour overs and espresso. As far as I go into “coffee drinks” would be a flat white or the occasionally cappuccino. Being coffee roasters, I always look forward to broadening my coffee horizons and experiencing new flavors and I appreciate their take on roasting. Being honest while I haven’t liked the flavor of every pour over, I have received there. That comes down to the subjectivity of taste. Not due to a lack of roasting ability or knowledge of their roaster. Even if a cup of coffee “isn’t my cup of tea” (<is that a pun?) The opportunity to experience new flavor is always appreciated.
